# `Capstan.Snapshot.State`
[🔗](https://github.com/baselabs/capstan/blob/v1.3.1/lib/capstan/snapshot/state.ex#L1)

The durable snapshot-progress state — one value per pipeline identity, persisted through
a `Capstan.SnapshotStore` (mirrors `Capstan.CheckpointStore`'s one-durable-value model).

`status` is the phase (`:initializing` before the `P0` seed lands, `:snapshotting` during
the backfill, `:complete` once every table is done — a `:complete` store never
re-snapshots). `p0` is the pipeline-global floor GTID position the stream was seeded from
(stored so the bootstrap seed is re-runnable and immune to `@@gtid_executed` drift across a
bootstrap crash). `tables` maps each `{schema, table}` to its per-table progress:
`fingerprint` (structural drift guard), `pk_columns`/`pk_types` (the introspected primary
key), `pk_cursor` (`:start` before the first chunk, else the canonical PK of the last
backfilled row), `delivered_pk`, and `done?`.

## `pk_cursor` vs `delivered_pk` — the crash-window delete backstop

Two monotonic PK high-waters, persisted at DIFFERENT points of a chunk emit:

  * `pk_cursor` — the re-read floor, advanced + persisted AFTER the sink `handle_snapshot`
    `{:ok}`. A crash before this persist rolls it back, so the next chunk re-reads (and
    re-emits) from here — the bounded at-least-once dup C1 already accepts.
  * `delivered_pk` — the high-water the sink has RECEIVED, advanced + persisted BEFORE the
    sink emit. In the crash window (sink `{:ok}` received, `pk_cursor` persist not yet done)
    it sits AHEAD of the rolled-back `pk_cursor`. The cursor-gate forwards a streamed DELETE
    of an already-delivered key (`k ≤ delivered_pk`) rather than suppressing it, so a delete
    landing during that window sweeps the row instead of leaving a permanent phantom.

In steady state the two are equal; they diverge only across that crash window. Both are
`:start` before the first chunk.

## Rule 1 (Ch5)

`pk_cursor`, `delivered_pk`, and `fingerprint` are USER DATA (a row value / a column-derived
hash). The `@derive {Inspect, only: [:status, :p0]}` elides the entire `tables` map, so an
incidental `inspect/1` (a crash dump, a logger) can never surface a cursor value. The
`SnapshotStore` behaviour separately BINDS its implementers to never log/telemeter `write/2`
args.

# `pk_cursor`

```elixir
@type pk_cursor() :: term() | :start
```

# `t`

```elixir
@type t() :: %Capstan.Snapshot.State{
  p0: String.t() | nil,
  status: :initializing | :snapshotting | :complete,
  tables: %{optional({String.t(), String.t()}) => table_progress()}
}
```

# `table_progress`

```elixir
@type table_progress() :: %{
  fingerprint: String.t(),
  pk_columns: [String.t()],
  pk_types: [atom()],
  pk_cursor: pk_cursor(),
  delivered_pk: pk_cursor(),
  done?: boolean()
}
```
